Pickleball Tip: Control the Kitchen Line

Pickleball Tip: Control the Kitchen Line

One of the biggest differences between beginner and advanced pickleball players is court positioning—especially at the kitchen line (non-volley zone line).

Get to the kitchen line as quickly as possible and hold your position there.

Why?

  • You can hit volleys earlier
  • You control the pace of the point
  • You take time away from your opponents

Tennis Tip: Create ideal spacing

Most mistakes come from being too close or too far from the ball. You want the ball at a comfortable distance so your swing can extend fully.
→ Use small adjustment steps (quick footwork) right before hitting.

Take a tennis lesson with one of our certified coaches to work on your spacing.

PIN Code Entry System for Courts 1-4

As part of our pickleball sound mitigation efforts, entry to the hard courts is now by reservation only.  This new system has many additional benefits, including: greater control over court access, no more juggling of or lost keys, better data on court usage and better insight into noise issues.

Members will book tennis and pickleball reservations online using the CourtReserve app available via computer and smartphone.  A QR code will also be posted at the courts for “on the spot” reservations. Once your reservation is confirmed you will be issued a one-time PIN code to enter on the gate keypad to access the courts. We appreciate your cooperation as we transition to this new system.

If you haven’t already created an account on CourtReserve you can do so by clicking HERE.
