Tennis & Pickleball Posts
Reminder: Tennis and Pickleball Guest Fees Apply Year-Round. With the close of the swim season, we want to remind members that as announced at the beginning of the season, the $5 per guest fee applies year-round. Guest fees can be paid online when booking a court.
While our collection rate has improved over last year, we are aware that some members are not paying the fee for their tennis or pickleball guests. This is unfair to the members who regularly pay for their guests and detracts from the value of your Club membership by providing a free benefit to those who pay no dues.
The Board has directed us to improve compliance with this policy. To that end, Blue Chip staff will verify whether players are guests or not. Members reserving a court will receive an email request to verify all players constituting the reservation. You will be asked to identify all players by first and last names on the reservation.
To those who follow this policy regularly, thank you for your support. We value your compliance and will work to assure that everyone shares in this responsibility.
Court Reservation System – In response to member input we are converting our court reservation system to “Court Reserve” operated by our partner, Blue Chip. It features many improvements over our existing tool. Up to 4 Pickleball courts can now be individually reserved, you can register for socials and lesson and guest fees can be paid using the portal. A one-time registration is required, but we think you’ll like the improved features.
You can view tutorials on our website at: Court Reserve Tutorials – OSRC
If you have an existing reservation and it doesn’t appear in the conversion, please contact the Pros at [email protected].

Restringing Service Provided by Blue Chip Tennis
Please contact the Pro at [email protected] to arrange for your racquet to be restrung.
Ball Machine
OSRC has a ball machine available for members to use free of charge. It’s easy to set up and control by using your smartphone. Select a preset drill or go into manual mode. To reserve it use our Court Reserve booking tool.
Please Remember to Cancel Reservations if Your Plans Change. It’s been brought to our attention that some members are reserving courts then failing to cancel when their plans change. This takes otherwise available courts out of play for up to two hours. With the increased demand we’re experiencing this season, we can’t have courts tied up unused. Please be sure to cancel your court reservations as soon as you know your plans have changed. Thanks for your courtesy.
Donate Your Old Tennis Racquets to OSRC
Help our “Loaner” Program. Do you have old racquets that the kids have outgrown? Others you have replaced with newer ones? We want to have a supply of “Loaner” racquets and balls available for people to check out so they can try their hand at tennis during breaks from swimming. We hope this will stimulate more interest among our junior members to explore more formal participation in our great tennis program. Just drop them at the pool reception desk or the tennis office. All sizes welcome.

Pickleball Tip: Control the Kitchen Line
/in TennisOne of the biggest differences between beginner and advanced pickleball players is court positioning—especially at the kitchen line (non-volley zone line).
Get to the kitchen line as quickly as possible and hold your position there.
Why?
Need pickleball lessons? We have the perfect class for you!
Tennis Tip: Create ideal spacing
/in TennisMost mistakes come from being too close or too far from the ball. You want the ball at a comfortable distance so your swing can extend fully.
→ Use small adjustment steps (quick footwork) right before hitting.
Take a tennis lesson with one of our certified coaches to work on your spacing.
PIN Code Entry System for Courts 1-4
/in Club News, TennisAs part of our pickleball sound mitigation efforts, entry to the hard courts is now by reservation only. This new system has many additional benefits, including: greater control over court access, no more juggling of or lost keys, better data on court usage and better insight into noise issues.
Members will book tennis and pickleball reservations online using the CourtReserve app available via computer and smartphone. A QR code will also be posted at the courts for “on the spot” reservations. Once your reservation is confirmed you will be issued a one-time PIN code to enter on the gate keypad to access the courts. We appreciate your cooperation as we transition to this new system.
If you haven’t already created an account on CourtReserve you can do so by clicking HERE.
